Food obsession is real. People who struggle with their weight can attest to this if they’re honest with themselves. It’s really like any other obsession and addiction, but the BIG difference is that we need food to survive!

Research has shown that in some people, when they eat those types of food (highly processed food that has sugar, flour, salt) a hormone called, dopamine floods the brain. Dopamine is called, “the feel good” hormone because it gives them the sense of happiness and makes them feel good.

Many of us already know that research has shown that sugar is highly addictive. Also, white flour, a carbohydrate, also turns into glucose (sugar) in our bodies when we eat food with white flour. That’s another reason why breads can be addictive too. Consuming these highly palatable foods sends a rush of glucose into the blood stream, that can create a sugar high.

The obsession is real, and flour and sugar can become addictive for some people. That’s why I encourage women to abstain from those types of food, if they can’t eat them in moderation. Believe me, there is plenty of good, delicious food left to eat without eating flour and sugar.

When I started to eat healthy, my cravings for junk food left. But sometimes I’ll see something that I want to eat, like donuts or chocolate, but I’m able to resist eating those types of foods because I have tools that I use to help me overcome those temptations. If you want to learn how to lose weight and keep it off, please contact me.

Blessings to you!
