Blog for Women with Food Addiction | Food | Food Addiction | Lifestyle | Sugar Addiction

A new year signifies a new start or a “do over” for many. What about you? What is at the top of your list? Well, if you’re like many women, it’s lose weight, exercise and eat healthy.

Are You Willing To Do Whatever It Takes?

What are you willing to do in 2019 to move toward a healthy weight and maintain it so that in 2020, this will no longer be on your resolution list?  If you are in a never-ending battle with cookies, cake, french fries, chips, candy, and processed foods, it’s time to lay down those foods and break the chain of addiction.  Your body cannot handle flour, sugar, and processed foods because it sets up an uncontrollable craving and obsession of the mind. Admitting this, is the first step in making your new relationship with food a reality.

Ask yourself, “When will I stop letting food control me?”  If you can’t have a few bites of flour and sugar products (and processed food), without it calling you back for more, it’s a problem. The obsession of the mind kicks in and it will not let you rest until you go back for more food. Your body and mind crave it. Each time that you give in to that intense craving, it eventually increases the number on the scale, along with an increasing clothes size.

Think of it as being allergic to flour, sugar, and processed foods. When you look at it that way, you get a better understanding of the importance of staying away from those types of foods.  This perspective will help strengthen your resolve and help you stay on track.

Food is a two-edged sword for the food addict because you have to eat to live. People who are addicted to other substances like, alcohol, drugs and the like, don’t have to be around their addictive substances. They can distance themselves from them.  However, since you must eat, it is vital that you consume healthy, measured meals, three times a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

You Don’t Need Another Diet!

This is your challenge in 2019! You are N-O-T going on another diet. It’s time to change your relationship with food. It must be a lifestyle change in order for you to lose the excess weight and maintain a healthy body weight for the rest of your life.
